Exclusive Duke Nukem Forever Coverage Soon
I've been invited to an event in which I will be previewing Duke Nukem Forever. I do not have permission to disclose the location or time of the event, but you will soon find out as it becomes public knowledge.
I've been given permission to announce Duke4.net's presence to this event--nothing can be said beyond that. We intend to post screenshots and video interviews ONCE WE HAVE PERMISSION TO DO SO. I hate to be secretive, but I respect the folks who have invited Duke4.net and I would hate to tarnish my reputation by breaking my promise to them.
I will say that our coverage will take place within this month and that you can expect to pick up exclusive information/media from Duke4.net. Again, because this is a private event, I can't say much more, except that once you hear more about the event, you'll know that Duke4.net will be a part of it.
You may go here or contact me directly at yatta.at.duke4.net if you have questions you'd like me to present while I conduct my interviews at the event. Other than that, I will not be able to give you more details regardless of how dear you are to me (or how well you know me, as much as I love you).
Thank you for your continued support and visit us frequently so we can deliver on Media Blitz: Part 2.
Duke Nukem 3D 15 years old today
15 years ago today, Duke Nukem 3D v1.0 was uploaded to the Software Creations BBS.
Nobody knew it at the time, but on this day in 1996 first person shooters were changed forever. Duke brought the world of FPS to a whole new level: it had jumping, ducking, swimming, flying and falling, it had maps that moved, shook, blew up and otherwise changed in any number of ways, and it had humor, attitude and atmosphere seldom seen in any game of the time period.
It was good enough that we've been waiting for a sequel since. Hell, it even looks like we're finally getting one! But have we forgotten Duke 3D? No! So, go forth and play the game that started it all today. Buy a new copy if you have to. Cherish how far gaming has come since then, and look forward to it happening all over again on May 3rd.
Hail to the king, baby!
John St. John Redoing Classic Lines for Duke Nukem Forever + Interesting Release Date Facts
Duke's original voice actor had this to say on his Twitter today:
Thanks Ferran275! Speaking of classic lines, make sure you check out our Xmas '07 Duke Nukem Soundboard if you already haven't.
In other news, our designer RedSplat discovered an interesting fact: "May 6, 2009, 3D Realms forced to suspend development on DNF. May 6, 2011, worldwide release of Duke Nukem Forever. Poetic justice."

In yet other, other news, DK2000 noticed that Duke Nukem Forever's United States release date of May 3rd, 2011 coincides with Douglas Wayne Myres Junior's tenth memorial anniversary. For those of you who don't know, Douglas was a founding member of the publishing company Gathering of Developers, which published Max Payne and would have gone to do the same for Duke Nukem Forever had it not been acquired by Take-Two Interactive, whose subsidiary, 2K Games, is now publishing the game. Sad, confusing, but interesting! R.I.P. Douglas--we'll always remember you from the "in memory of" line at the end of the E3 2001 trailer.

New Duke Nukem Fan Music
James Gilmour - He's the Duke [MP3 download on Duke4.net removed by author's request.] (original source)
No, not him. The other one.
No, not him either. The guy. With the face. And the gun. The face and the gun.
For God’s sake, go and ask your Dad. He’ll remember him. Your Dad thought he was great. He’ll be really excited, actually, because he’s coming back. The guy, that is, not your Dad. Your Dad’s where you left him. No, the guy’s coming back and I have been assured everyone is really rather excited.
Oh, forget it.
