Those of you who have been Duke fans for a long time will remember the days of Dukeworld.  For those who don't know, Dukeworld was the biggest and best Duke Nukem fan website of the late 90s and very early 2000s; it was unexpectedly shut down after being turned over to Gamespy, who replaced it with its own rendition known as Planet Duke.

Thus in May 2001, the glorious Dukeworld was no more, and the domain Dukeworld.com was thrown away and picked up by advertisers who had no interest in rekindling its cherished spirit.  Eight years have passed since Dukeworld's demise, but through the grace of TerminX, Duke4.net has been able to bring back some of what was lost.  TX has rewritten some of the Dukeworld code and used it to make available the old hosted files from the long gone website.

The archive currently contains ~9500 files from 5223 different entries (maps, mods, etc.), totaling in ~1.4 GB.  More data can and will be recovered, including textual content from the original website.  This will be reflected as an update to what is currently available at http://dukeworld.duke4.net.  Long live Dukeworld!
