YANG 0.48 released
From the things-easily-overlooked department, it looks like YANG has been updated, bringing the current version to 0.48. Looking for a Dukematch? Download today and start fragging!
For those unfamiliar with YANG, here's the gist of it: it's a multiplayer matchmaking client for Duke that handles the more annoying aspects of multiplayer, namely finding an opponent, setting up the game and getting everything running, and it's got a simple interface that makes it easy for just about anyone to use it.
We like it so much, we're even hosting the site!

3DR responds to lawsuit
GamePolitics.com reports about newly obtained court documents revealing more about the case between Take2 and 3D Realms.

The original development schedule for the Duke Begins game provided that the game was to be completed and commercially released by mid-2010...
Take Two and/or its subsidiary 2K Games halted or otherwise cancelled all development work by the third-party game developer on the Duke Begins game in April 2009... without Apogee's approval or consent...
When Apogee confronted Take-Two and 2K Games about the... cancellation of the Duke Begins development work... Take-Two and 2K Games simply denied it... Take-Two and 2K Games are taking such actions with a goal of pressuring Apogee to sell the Duke Nukem franchise rights to Take-Two for less than their true value.

3D Realms Allegedly Hiding Money Offshore
The plot thickens:
3D Realms received two advances for Duke Nukem Forever: $400,000 from former publisher GT Interactive in 1998--a debt Take-Two assumed when it acquired DNF publishing rights--and $2.5 million from Take-Two Interactive in 2008.
That second advance was provided with the stipulation of "7% per annum" interest after September 2009, and an agreement that the sum would "become immediately due" if Duke Nukem Forever was not released by October 22, 2012.
Perhaps most shockingly, Take-Two claims that "upon information and belief, [3D Realms/Apogee Ltd.] has title to a substantial amount of funds deposited in an off-shore account, which Take-Two believes Apogee can use to fund its outstanding obligations."
